There will be daily outdoor recreation time built into each camp.

HEALTH & SAFETY

We will continue to follow all state and local guidance for summer camp health and safety.

We are committed to providing a positive, fun environment, while prioritizing the health and safety of our students, staff, volunteers, and teachers. Parents, please monitor your childs’ health and keep them home if they display any COVID-19 symptoms. These include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, and nausea or vomiting. Students who are sick should stay home from camp.

Please contact Arts Center Manager Chanda Hall with any concerns or questions: hallc@sherwoodoregon.gov or (503) 217-9002 (cell/text).

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE

We have 3 separate color-coded entrances, and your student will be assigned to either the RED, GREEN, or BLUE entrance/exit. Camp staff will greet your child outside the their assigned entrance and check them in each day. Your child will receive a lanyard/nametag which will be worn throughout their time here. At the end of camp, staff will bring your child out to the same entrance/exit and release them to you. We will be writing down who is picking up your child each day. Please let us know in writing if your child has your permission to walk or bike home or to another nearby location after camp.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We are so excited to welcome you to camp! Our focus is the safety and enjoyment of every student in class. To that end, we ask that parents and guardians exit the classroom once camp is underway. If your child needs special accommodations to be successful in camp, please talk to Arts Center staff ahead of time.

Students are expected to stay in the class for the duration, and not leave class without permission from the teacher. Class participants of all ages are expected to exhibit kindness and respect towards their fellow classmates, the teaching artist, and the building. Camp participants are not allowed to roam the building unattended, and we need permission in writing in order for children to walk or ride their bike home alone after class.

All of our teaching artists, volunteers, and staff members are background checked, and have been trained in our safety policies and procedures.

Please review these expectations with your student, and contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to creating with you!

We look forward to a week full of creativity, growth, exploration and FUN.
