Gallery Opening Reception: Transitions

Join us for the gallery opening reception of our newest exhibit "Transitions," featuring the beautiful colors, textures and abstract styles of local artist, Deanna Schuerbeke. Enjoy light refreshments and chat with the artist.

About the Artist:

Deanna is a contemporary artist, working primarily in acrylic, oil, and mixed media. She is inspired by the velvetiness, the serenity, the tumultuousness, the complexity, the vastness of the incredible landscapes in our world, especially those in the pacific northwest and the prairies of her Canadian home. She is attracted to both the beauty and drama of nature. Painting is visceral for her, an intuitive exercise where she gives in to what wants to be revealed. Whether abstract, expressionist, or impressionistic, she wants to be known as an experimenter —be it application of paint and mark, mixing new colors, using new mediums, new surfaces, or new tools. Deanna tries not to take herself too seriously and tries to keep the joy of play as she paints. Deanna is Canadian-bred, now living in Oregon.
