Sherwood Public Library

Library

Sherwood Public Library supports life-long learning for patrons from birth through adulthood and is proud to be the community’s living room.

Sherwood Public Library is the southern-most library in Washington County, where we serve a population of nearly 25,000 people with informational, educational, cultural and recreational resources, services and programming using innovative approaches while honoring the value of traditional library practices. We welcome patrons from all walks of life, encourage and support an informed citizenry, and share the value of the Library with everyone through free and equitable access.

Each month, about 22,000 people visit the library. Total annual circulation of library materials is nearly 374,000. See our annual report for more details and service stories.

As a member of Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS), Sherwood Public Library provides access to over 1.7 million items from our County libraries. The local collection of over 52,000 items offers more than just books. The Library also has Blu-Rays, DVDs, CDs, magazines, newspapers, audio books—in addition to e-books, downloadable audiobooks, and a Library of Things with tools, gadgets, games and more for checkout.
