CLASS REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, JUNE 7

 

Wheel Throwing 
5 weeks | 12 - Adult
Get your hands dirty during this introduction to the pottery wheel. Students use tabletop wheels to explore the basics of centering, pulling, and shaping clay into cylinders and bowls. They will refine their pieces by trimming them and add color to their work with glaze. This class is designed for absolute beginners or those who want to improve their basic throwing skills. Glazed pieces will be ready 10 days after final class. Students keep their toolkit.

Club Mud
4 weeks | 7 - 13 years
Create, play and discover the wonder of working with clay. Students are introduced to hand building techniques as they invent forms and add details to their creations. Students have the option to free build or to work on projects inspired by weekly demonstrations. They will add color to their work with glaze the final week of class. No prior experience needed. Class may be taken repeatedly. Glazed work will be ready 10 days after final class.

Handbuilding with Clay
4 Weeks | 18 +
Explore the wonders of working with clay. Students are introduced to hand building as they create functional or whimsical pieces using coil, slab and pinch techniques. They may free build or work on projects inspired by demonstrations. Students are encouraged to accentuate their work with details and textures. They will finish their pieces by adding color with glaze. This class is designed for beginners or those who want to improve their basic hand building skills. Class my be taken repeatedly.

Family Clay Nights

Families and friends gather to discover the joy of working with clay. Create unique pieces inspired by themes and demonstrations. Fired pieces will be available for pick up about 10 days later. *An adult needs to register with child(ren) 12 and under. All participants must register.

 

Family Clay Night: Dragons
2 weeks | 5+ years & ONE Adult/Guardian

Families or friends can work together or individually to build a dragon from clay. The first night will be spent working with clay, they will add color to their creations the second week. One dragon per person.

Clay Exploration 
3-7 & ONE Adult/Guardian
In this introductory class children spend time rolling, shaping, cutting, and adding texture to clay. The focus is on discovery and play. Each child will also make a hand print to be glazed by the instructor. Adults act as supports to the process. ONE adult must be present with child(ren). Only child(ren) need to register for class.
