Join us as we explore the lives and artwork of some of the great master artists. Meet Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keefe and Frida Kahlo, and learn how their different styles and passions inspired their life’s work.

Painting: A Contemporary Sampling
4 weeks | 6 - 13 years
This modern art class for kids features a beautiful neutral color palette filled to the brim with textures and classic design elements, just in time for spring! We will be creating art pieces that you will love to display in your home. The sampling will include working with traditional canvas, reclaimed wood, woven wall hangings and a dive into abstract work on handmade paper.

Creative Kids

Explore the wonderful world of art using various mediums, including collage, watercolor, acrylic, pen, marker, tissue paper, and more! Students will have fun discovering new and creative ways to make art, and apply new techniques with various mediums and tools on paper. Instructor: Rebecca Parker

Cardboard Creations: Winter Village
5 weeks | 7 - 12 years
Craft a cozy winter wonderland where arctic animals mingle with the townsfolk. Design cardboard houses and add white design details to give them a gingerbread look. Include a sled team, skating pond or some snow-covered trees. Students will bring their fanciful 3D landscapes and inhabitants to life using a variety of materials including cardboard, paint, fabric, battery operated lights and snow-like fluff!

Cardboard Creations: Mardi Gras Masks
5 weeks | 7 - 12 years
Create a whimsical mask influenced by the colors and flamboyance of Carnival. Students will design their mask using cardboard and paper mache. Later they will embellish and add details using a variety of materials: acrylic paint, feathers, ribbon, fabric, beads, and glitter!

Fun with Fibers

Explore the world of fiber arts! During this class, students will learn the delicate beauty and artistry behind threads and fabric. Projects include sewing an original stuffie, weaving, and Huichol-style yarn painting.

The Art of Science

Do you love to discover and create new things? Are you curious about the world around you? Where the worlds of science and art intersect lies a bounty of inspiration and discovery. In this session we will learn the alchemy of making pigments and inks, explore how naturalists like Beatrix Potter use drawing skills to create botanical illustrations, and play with numbers and patterns including the Golden Ratio.

Art Journaling

Journaling is a wonderful tool for reflection and connecting to yourself. In this two-part mixed media workshop, we will explore various tools and techniques to bring creative expression to your journal entries. Each session stands alone and will have new lessons and prompts. All materials will be provided, with a $20 supply fee due the first class of each session.

Tin Heart Wall Hanging | 13 - Adult
Join us for an evening of creativity! Emboss custom texture and patterns into hearts made from tin. Designs will be pressed into the tin using a stylus. After decorating your hearts, choose beads as embellishment and prepare them to be hung on a wall or in a window.

Fabric Bowls | 13 - Adult
Bring a friend for an evening of crafting! Make a colorful custom bowl from fabric. Select colors and patterns you love to adorn a pre-made form and seal it with ModPodge to ensure a sturdy form. Each bowl will be as unique as its maker!
