ART LAB
4 weeks | 11 - 16 years
A chill, informal space for teen artists to experiment, create and generate new ideas. We’ll provide a variety of media/tools/supplies to explore and create with, bring your favorite tools along if you’d like. Try out our prompts, projects and games; play with new techniques; integrate exploration with your own ideas. Come on your own or bring a pal or two. You’ll find like-minded folks, loads of encouragement and inspiration to build your art skills. During class, we will explore Zen Doodles, Color and Pattern, Oil Pastel and Mixed Media. Bring a multi-media sketchbook (Canson is an affordable option)

Early Day Creators: Cardboard Treehouse

Perfect for those Sherwood “Early Release” days. Imagine and build your own mini backyard sanctuary. Construct a tree house from cardboard and tuck it safely into the branches of a tree you’ve designed. Fashion the surrounding yard into a dream retreat.

Early Day Creators: Paper Mache Pets
4 weeks | 8 - 14 years
Perfect for those Sherwood “Early Release” days. Create your own carefree breed; be it dog, cat, fish or bird. Imagine the colors, shapes and sizes of your critter. Bring it all together using paper mache, paint and decorative details.

Creative Kids
4 weeks | 6 - 14 years
Give wings to your imagination and explore the palette of spring colors using a variety of mediums including collage, watercolor, acrylic, pen, marker, tissue paper, pastels and more! Students will enjoy discovering new and creative ways to make art and apply new techniques with various mediums and tools on paper. Some projects include paper weaving, watercolor resist art, colorful collages and printmaking.

Painting: Farmhouse Finds

Enjoy creating in subtle clean hues and beautiful lines that make farm fresh statement pieces for your family’s home! Projects include Rustic Barn, Happy Highlands (cow), Farm fresh bouquets, Windmills and Wishing flowers.

Decorative Tea Towels  | 21+
Brighten up your kitchen with custom dish towels. We’ll be printing designs of your choice on tea towels. There will be a variety of stamping tools and techniques to experiment with before crafting your final pieces.
