Enjoy an evening with  Renée Watson, the award-winning author of Piecing Me Together and recipient of a Coretta Scott King Award and Newbery Honor. Watson, originally from Portland, Oregon, is a New York Times best selling author, educator, and poet.

Her work has been described as "charming and evocotive" by the New York Times. She has has spoken about her young adult novels and picture books to audiences worldwide. Her poetry and fiction often centers on the lived experiences of black girls and women, and explores themes of home, identity, and the intersections of race, class, and gender.

This free public event will be held at the Sherwood Center for the Arts.
