Paula Burton graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Hons in Drama, before beginning her acting career. She spent a year performing nationwide at venues that included: Shakespeare’s Globe, Edinburgh Festival, and Battersea Arts Center, and was awarded the Sunday Times Award for Innovation for a play she co-wrote and performed. During this time, Paula discovered another passion and began teaching drama to children (aged between 5-18yrs) in London, working with Stagecoach Theatre Arts and Dramarama Stage School, where she prepped students for the annual LAMDA examinations. With a desire to train further, Paula came to the States after being awarded a full acting scholarship to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, in New York City. Upon graduation, Paula spent many years in NYC both acting and directing, and also taught at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, in the Saturday program.
Paula is now a public speaking coach with The Burton Group, helping individuals overcome presentation anxiety. Whether corporate professionals, elementary school students, or her recent class of undergrads at the University of Oregon, she loves to remind people just how capable they are and how confident they can become.
Paula is a proud member of Actor’s Equity, keen triathlete and lead singer of the award winning band, Pencil Skirt Paula and The Straight Edge Rulers.
