Gala Dinner Under the Big Top

Come one! Come all! The Friends of the Center for the Arts invite you to the Second Annual Gala fundraising event, benefiting the Sherwood Center for the Arts. Join The Friends of the Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 15, 2017 for A Night Under the Big Top featuring some of the finest performers and special guests from around the area. Festivities including games and a cocktail hour will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by a one-night-only circus experience. The Gala is the largest fundraising event of the year for The Friends of the Center for the Arts – don’t miss out on the opportunity and chance to support the arts in the Sherwood community.

All proceeds from this event benefit the Sherwood Center for the Arts – allowing the Center to continue providing great productions, programs, events, educational experiences and accessibility to the community.

WHAT GOES ON AT SHERWOOD CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Visual Arts 

• Curators filled the gallery with 10 exhibits

Programs

• Classes: In collaboration with local instructors and artists, the Center has offered more than 99 classes and 18 summer camps - serving more than 500 students (41 classes anticipated for Winter 2017)
• Family Matinee Series: Provided 5 arts enrichment performances, serving more than 1,645 attendees
• Classic Film Series: Provided 9 films, serving more than 400 attendees
• Sherwood Library Education Programs: The Center has created a partnership with the Library to bring free educational programming to the community throughout the year

Private Rentals & Visiting Productions:

• 2015: The Center hosted 6 productions and 36 private rentals
• 2016: The Center hosted 13 productions and 37 private rentals
• Internal Rentals: Host for continued education for various City departments
